A Thanksgiving Tradition That Fits Into Your Day

Nine o’clock. Late enough to get your turkey in the oven before you head out. Early enough to be home with your family before anyone notices you were gone.

This is a Thanksgiving morning tradition that fits into your holiday - not one that replaces it. Show up and get ready to be part of something that will make the rest of your day feel even better.

Plan Your Morning

People participating in a group run outdoors on a paved trail near parking lot and trees.
People running in a race, wearing athletic clothing and beanies, on a paved path in a park-like setting.
A group of people at an outdoor event under yellow and red tents, with a woman speaking into a microphone in the foreground.

More Than a Race

A few things that make the Gratitude Run a little different:

  • No bib pickup

  • No packet pickup

  • No timing chips

  • No rankings or finishers lists

This isn’t about pace or placement - it’s about showing up, moving together, and doing something that matters.

What to Expect

A group of people, including children and adults, standing in a line outdoors on a paved path, with a woman in red speaking to them. Trees and cars are visible in the background.

Bring the Whole Family

Kids, grandparents, strollers, and yes - your dog is absolutely welcome.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a first-time walker, or someone just looking to start Thanksgiving morning surrounded by good people and positive energy, there’s a place for you here.

This morning belongs to the entire community.

Everyone is Welcome

Easy Arrival, Friendly Faces

Come into Peterswood Park and you'll be greeted by volunteers from the Peters Township High School National Honor Society who will guide you straight to your parking spot.

Just follow their lead - they’ve got you covered.

  • The only clock that matters is yours. This isn’t about pace or placement - it’s about showing up and doing something meaningful on Thanksgiving morning.

  • Absolutely - this course is family-friendly and we love seeing the little ones out there.

  • Yes - and we’d love for you to. Every dollar raised on race day goes directly to our Hero Families.

  • Dress for the weather - it’s November in Pennsylvania, so layers are your friend. And if you want to wear a turkey hat, we will never stop you.

  • We run rain or shine. Some of our most meaningful mornings have been the coldest and wettest ones. The community always shows up anyway.
